Why I might be so happy.

Originating missive

I'm a pretty happy guy. I love my town, love my family. I think we are living in some of the greatest times ever. I mean all in all life is good.

This little study by academics Daniel Kahneman, Alan Krueger, David Schkade, Norbert Schwarz and Arthur Stone. Show that if you turn off the TV your happier.

I'm pretty sure this revolves mostly around watching TV news. It's very destructive.

Please abstain.

90 minutes a week is what I limit myself to, and Monsterquest eats up most of that.

Oh - we're aware plenty of news events. We're just getting it from different sources than the evening news. The only thing I like on our evening news are the local video clips of people in the area.

The rest is crap & I'd rather read about it online or in the paper, where nothing is sensationalized anywhere near as bad.

I very rarely watch the news. If there is anything interesting in the news I hear it from my hubby, who both watches the news and reads the paper. Of course hubby is one of the most non-emotional people I have ever met. I don't think the tragedies and things that would depress me affect him much. So I get the shortened and condensed version which is fine by me!
