You see quantum systems can exist in many different physical configurations at the same time. By observing the system, however, we may pick out one single 'quantum state', and therefore force the system to change its configuration.
Cosmologists observing dark energy have done just that, "Incredible as it seems, our detection of the dark energy may provide evidence that the universe will ultimately decay," says Prof Krauss.
So much for all of existance. DAMN YOU SCIENCE!!!!!

Clearly the only way to save the universe to to have a moratorium on astronomical observations. Not sure yet exactly what kinds of observations we should avoid, but just to be safe, better not look at the stars at night.
When the wave function of a Photon is observed, it does collapse. Leptons sort of appear and disappear in thin air constantly. Morons , I've noticed, are a little more permanent.
