Practical Application!

I just had this idea. Lets say your an environmentalist who believes in man made global warming and you want to show everyone how dangerous CO2 levels can be.

Find a place thats public but a bit private, get a large clear trash bag you can sit in, then seal it from the inside. You will expel CO2 gases into the bag and show everyone how much warmer it gets inside there and eventually how dangerous CO2 can be.

I would urge anyone out there to try this themselves. First get an environmentalist and put them in a bag....

hey... its for science....

I love it!!! You gotta weigh in on Bob's sustainababble blog, as we have a debate going on (be careful or he'll accuse you of parroting Rush Limbaugh. Stay away from facts, too, if you can)
He posted a rather pretentious letter written for you to distribute when you realize you were wrong about corporate profiteers and global warming.....Whee!

oooh, very good! Then have someone actually go through the farmer's almanac and actually show how years past have had even warmer seasons than we have now, like in the 1930's! It was a lot hotter than it is now! Oooh, does global warming come and go? Seems so....hmmmm but that doesn't make sense does it? Duh!

I wish I could find the graph that follows media sentiment about global temps....It went back to the 1850's. Very cyclic public fears on a 30 year cycle, global warming/coming ice age/global warming. Blaming industrialization started with the ice age fears of the 70's, the theory was pollution was reflecting lots of radiant heat back into space.

Gol Tim. If you tell an autistic kid to get a plastic bag, they will.

They are taught to follow other people's instructions.

That's why we only give him his supplements in a small cup - hopefully he'll get he should only take pills in that manner. We are hoping that will keep him from taking something harmful from a intolerant F***up in Jr. High or High School.

You'll note there was no one personally named. That's cuz it was generalized humor.

I agree with Tina that your comments are out of line.

heard about that. Not cool.

Tim,

Sorry, I'm not interested in anything you have to say on this topic.

You were out of line..

my comment was obscene.

now help me understand your position. i'm being serious here. i really don't understand why your post is humor and . comments suggest its because your post is an anonymous skewer at a class of people with whom you disagree. but stick a name you care about on the barb and suddenly nothing's funny anymore. so far so good?

timmerov said...

heh. missed a word. should be: ... your post is humor and not drek...

If you had directed your barb at me instead of my autistic child it would have been funny and appropriate.

hmmm.... no i don't think so. the dis: "environmentalists are like lee." makes no sense. whereas the dis: "environmentalists are like autistic children. ie their mental facilities aren't quite all there. ba-dump-bump." /might/ be humorous if someone with comedic talent (1 2 3 not it) could find the right presentation.

i agree with the direction of the point in your post. if not the extremeness (heh. sounds like extra-meanness.) ie many "environmentalists" need to spend some quality time with a small paper bag to get their hyperventilation under control.

your barb hit. the weasel popped. and swung wildly without regard to who or what might get hit. turning your skewer onto an individual you care about caused far more shock and appall than was intended. sorry.

course you know... your joke doesn't make any sense. environmentalists know co2 is dangerous. it's the deniers that need to prove it isn't. we should stuff one of them into a clear plastic bag. now that's funny! except some a-hole's gonna retort stick my kid in a sack. and that wouldn't be funny at all.

humor attempt aside

"environmentalists are like autistic children. ie their mental facilities aren't quite all there"

shows a large lack of understanding about autisim.

Your final paragraph is a worthy reply to the original jocularity
