So be it.

Congrats to President Elect. Barak Obama.

Time to rebuild and move forward. Hopefully, in 2010 we can get some Conservatives running.

Way back when this election kicked off I had a wish, That John McCain would NOT be voted President, I got that wish. Later on I had a wish that Barak Obama would NOT be voted in as President.

Looks like I'm at an even 50/50.

Palin 2012?

Does anyone else see it as a bad sign that the leaders of our least favorite countries are celebrating this win?

Obama was not my candidate of choice, but I am ready to give him a chance. I think that our least favorite countries will test him. I have a feeling that he will use the Teddy Roosevelt "speak softly and carry a big stick" approach to put them back in their place. He knows that he is considered soft on foreign policy, and because of that I think that he will make sure to step up and take care of whatever happens.

One thing I am looking forward to is a little more unity. That's true both in the US and around the world. He claimed that as a goal in his campaign, and we now can hold him to it.

Having the rest of the world less angry at us for a while is not a bad thing.

I still see this as an opportunity for the press to test the boundaries of their bias. I mean if he messes up royally they will have to get pretty creative on putting a good spin on it. Which of course they have accomplished quite well during the entire campaign.

Tina, please read the Gallup poll and map. You'll see that 73 countries from May to October 2008 reveal widespread international support for Democratic Sen. Barack Obama over Republican Sen. John McCain in the U.S. presidential election.

Countries that support Obama are Canada, all of Europe, Australia, and Japan. I would consider support from countries that don't like us a good sign. There is potential for our president to negotiate with countries that vehemently disagreed with Bush's policy, particularly the invasion of Iraq.

Even a published article in Pravda contained the quote, "Welcome back, friends!" The possibility of peace between the U.S. and Russia instead of a looming Cold War II is a positive move for world peace.

Rob's statement is absolutely on-target and gracious.
