We are taking the IT department in a different direction.

And I'm unemployed.

You know - this sounds suspiciously like they needed to move to a bigger location, and so you were hired in to set that all up.

After the 24-hour shifts and getting on-call phone calls at all hours, you have everything running smoothly now and they are set for a while.

I'll bet the never intended you to stay and maintain what you'd set up. And you document everything so nicely, so someone else can come in and take care of things.

It sucks.

But as I told you, you have a lot of great skills and I have faith you'll find something new soon.

Love you hon.

Dude, that sucks.

You'll land on your feet, I am sure. Hopefully the next job will be much less stressful.

A hard... but awesome truth.
Good Luck

Sorry that I didn't have time to chat today -- you were probably going to give me an update on this. Sorry to hear it and good luck with the next job search.

Hey Lee,
Sorry to hear about this! I can't believe the company can just let you go like that! You were doing so much and for them to be so poopy is just not right!
And, I say Steve was right!
Our prayers are with you!

bummer.
ah, you didn't want to work for a company that treats their employees that way anyway.

If you need a letter of recommendation,, I worked with you when you were Chief Operating Officer of Larsen Electric, and when you delivered helium as a mood elevator when people had completed trips around the sun. I remember when you were safety, policy a procedures guy for a civilian urban warfare outfit that used 'laser beams'. You also managed large crowds of people that would have brakeless freewheel devices strapped to their feet, and form a crowd that would endlessly orbit inside a small warehouse. I think there were some computer jobs too.

Oof! Sorry to hear about that but like I said elsewhere, I can relate.

It totally skakes my confidence in our generation of the US job market. It's rare to expect a company will be around for one to retire from.

I surround myself with all sorts of good people and things don't seem nearly as gloomy. Just different. We roll with different now.

Now you have a chance to change into something new. Don't be bummed if it takes a while, but things will work out.
