Good news! We did not get sucked into a black hole!

The CERN Collider was turned on and did NOT destroy the earth. Phew! When reading some of the articles over the last few days, you think of all those films with disasters being unknowingly caused by smug scientists. Real life here folks...

Which reminds me.

Last night was the season premier of Fringe on Fox. I really had a hard time suspending belief that an FBI agent could get the cash allocation to do all the stuff she does without any paperwork. It looks like she is going to be recruited into some homeland security (The new plot device NSA?) top secret, we have to protect people and not let them know all the weird stuff that is really going on, divisor.

Gonna give it a few more episodes.

The lipstick story is a perplexing one. Barak has done something, its subtle enough so people wonder if it is intentional, gets called on it by opponent, then starts playing the victim card. This happened a couple of times during the Hillary vs. Obama section of the election.

Also, McCain got called to task for the same analogy used

Obama is a very smart guy, it is very possible this is a snarky dig. Also, with all the attacks on Palin, it is very possible for the McCain camp to be overly sensitive. I can see the campaign misters on both sides sitting around tables plotting.

Overall three works of fiction.

Although it pains me to defend Obama, I think they were just poorly chosen words. He really isn't much of an orater, just a good teleprompt reader. The more they attack Palin, though, the better. If they had just ignored her, said "Neat lady. Too bad she's in a relatively insignificant role" and piled on McCain, they would have fared better. I think bt focusing on her they've elevated her status, an dif you attack her you are attacking 1)Women. 2)Parents of children with disabilities. 3) the NRA. 4) Alaskans. 5) True conservatives. The really fun thing is watching liberals unable to contain their hatred for this woman and all she stands for.
I like her. Once you decide you like somebody, mudslinging doesn't change your mind--just turns you off toward the slinger of mud.

I heard the live audio of Obama's remarks. The crowd, by their reaction, clearly thought it was a snarky dig on Palin, or at least least recognized it could easily be interpreted that way. But it did sound more like poorly chosen words than intentional, and the McCain camp is getting all mock-indignant over it.

Of course, Obama and his surrogates play the same game. Just yesterday, the Governor of New York asserted that "Community Organizer" was code for "Black".
