"As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one."
The rule does not make any statement whether any particular reference or comparison to Hitler or the Nazis might be appropriate, but only asserts that one arising is increasingly probable.

You beat me to the punch on this topic.
I couldn't remember the rules' name.
It is unfortunate that now this will help any good discussion work its way into the gutter that much quicker.
I think this topic is coming up because of the irony that an advocate for abstinence-only sex ed has a child who is pregnant out of wedlock.
That used to be a big moral stigma, but it is being lauded by some on the right as a blessing and as the familys' "choice", which is not to be confused with being "pro-choice".
The nazi tie-in is because the nazis awarded medals for women who produced five or more children for the right--I mean Reich. The medals were inscribed 'Das Kind adelt die Mutter' (The child ennobles the mother) and "Every Mother of Good Blood is a Sacred Asset of Our Existence".
My zealot friend has for some time been talking about the LBP (little brown people) out-breeding "us". "We" need to have more white-CHRISTIAN (that means the proper kind of christian--papists need not apply) babies to counter this. He is hoping that Palin will bring more attention to this cause (crusade?). There is apparently some chatter in evangelical circles about this.
He finally stopped bringing this up when I pointed out that some of my ancestors were Romany and some of his ancestors tried to exterminate some of my ancestors in camps. There is no "us" or "we".
Maybe I'm just old, but I do not like the "change" in morality that seems to be based upon expediency.
I think it's hypocritical and dangerous.
Amazing but not surprising.
Fact of the Matter is abstinence works every time its tried, with possibly one exception (luke 1:34)
Any education that limits what people know, should be called indoctrination.
Palins daughter had knowledge of and did not choose to abstain and we will not know (nor should we) if there was no protection or if it failed.
To me the irony is, if she followed her Parents advice, she wouldnt be pregnant.

However, my posting is more on a revelation that at a certain point, there is no reason to continue flogging the horse, as its dead. Seeing Godwins law could mean that exit point should have been taken eariler.
Since the Nazi party successfully turned around a failing economy, I declare anyone that wants to turn around a failing economy is, therefore, a Nazi. Also--they drank beer. If you drink beer, you are a Nazi.
