Health Care

I was reading up on the two plans for consideration for improving health care. Yes, I like McCains better. So accept that bias in my writing.

With McCain I wonder how much insurance I can buy for my family with $5000.00. I Like that the plan includes malpractice reform, as that is one thing that drives doctor fee's way up. Also being able to get insurance nationally over statewide is huge.

Depending upon your focus the tax credit has some problems. Lets say there is a family that views the $5000.00 should be spent on a Disneyland vacation instead of insurance. Further that same year someone in that family comes down with a deadly but treatable illness or injury. Who gets the bill? The next year there would be another $5000.00 that would be used for insurance, yet, this is a pre-existing condition.

While one side of me says, "Hey, they made the choice, you have to accept responsibly" another side of me knows that compassion would take over.

This is what I see happening. Businesses opt out of carrying insurance for employee's and instead offer extended coverage as a benefit package to entice people to work for them. So see a rise in Dental, Vision, and special coverage. Hospitals are going to want some kind of option for compensation for non-insured. Also, look for fly by night insurance companies.

Obama's plan for government run insurance raises a big red flag. To start I have seen quite a few disputes of his math for paying the costs and any government run system costs more and more over time. Also, if it turns out to be a very bad idea, there is no way to get rid of a government agency.

While it has manditory insurance for children, you can see a few collage age kids opting out. Look for Meningitis's to increase. Then again, why opt out when its only costing the rich?

There is quite a few things that require better definition, for instance, he says that small business can be exempt from providing insurance. Without saying what small, med and large business means. I can see the as being a huge exploitable whole. As is the cap on insurance company profits.

So look for companies to divide into 'Small companies' to avoid insurance. Look for the government run health care to grow in size and taxes to increase. Without malpractice reform and knowing that the government has deep pockets, look for law suits to increase and payouts to increase. Doctors and nurses jobs will be cost eliminated and CNA's will be the bulk of hospital staff. Also, a new industry of doctors specializing in treatment of the rich will appear, as the lines for government care go up and up, a cash and carry doctor will start appearing. Doctors who are in the government system will leave to be replaced by the lesser skilled.

Then look for government to 'fix', 'reform' and change this overtime.

of course, I could be wrong.
