Just so you know.

Ethanol is not a good idea.

Gun Control increases Crime. Gun ownership reduces crime.

Global Warming is not man made, it might be man induced, it might not be.

Minimum wage hurts more people then it helps.

Government ownership of industry is socialism.

The people who run our government and run for president should be treated with the same respect you expect from others.

The nature of man is good.

You cannot quantify God. As there is no basis for understanding everything.

Conservation is a good thing. Excluding man from nature is a bad thing.

Wars should be fought to total victory. They should be destructive and bloody to the point that no one wants one to occur. Nice wars (rules of engagement) do nothing more then degrade diplomatic processes.

The Government is of the people by the people. The Church is a community of people. In trying to separate church from state you are trying to separate people from people.

Face to face discussions (arguments) lead to common ground. Blog arguments lead to scorched earth. The latter should change.

Tolerance is intolerant. Rather be egalitarian regarding persons. Be elitist regarding ideas.

Abortion is a harsh topic because knowing where life begins lacks common ground. Erring on the side of life is not considered practical.

Why didn't YOU run for President? You'd have an awesome cabinet, too. Rob could be your quiet vice, Tina your secretary of education, Shoo defense; Bob could do dept. of interior. Froggy for surgeon general. Vince could be secretary of Anachronisms

I am afraid to ask, but I have to know. Exactly what "vice" of Lee
's would I be? Are you suggesting something that will come out on the campaign trail?

Oh wait, you mean VP. As I have stated before, I can see Russia from here (in Finland still)!

You say: The Government is of the people by the people. The Church is a community of people. In trying to separate church from state you are trying to separate people from people.

If you do combine religion and government, what kind of "church" are we talking about? The Bahai "church"? Or the Catholic "church"? Or some other church? What kind of church should be combined with state laws, regulation and funding?

And, importantly, what about the people who don't believe in Jesus, or even in God? Wouldn't you be alienating them?

Cynic, you missed the point. Seperation of government and religion can not be exclusion of government and religion.

The government cannot control individual conscience.

So, combining church and state prevents government control of individual conscience?

Please explain how.

What to you mean combining church and state? Why would you want to do that?
